To be an idol is to rebel. I'm starting a revolution against the system. That's why I can only walk the path that I believe in.

— Sakura Fujima[1]

Sakura Fujima (ふじさくら Fujima Sakura?) is one of the members of 22/7 idol group and is a virtual YouTuber. She is also a member of 22/7 sub-unit Ki no Nuketa Cider. She is voiced by Sally Amaki.

Sakura's image and penlight color is yellow.[2] [3]

Appearance[]

Sakura is a pale and petite girl with cool toned blond hair that reaches a little past her waist. She has blunt bangs and tied in a loop on the left side of her head with sakura pins. Her eyes are a wide and turned slightly downward. Her eyes are muted dark purple but are lighter in some iterations.

In most cases, Sakura is wearing a school uniform of some kind.

Her character was designed by Kantoku.

Personality[]

Sakura is described as cheerful and bright, and follows her own goals and interests. Sakura is free-spirited and an optimist at heart. She is extremely social and gets along with her fellow group members extremely well. She is also somewhat laid-back.[4] It is noted that Sakura has a "dark side", although this has never been elaborated on. She is good at English, yet is bad with Kanji. Sakura is also bad at radio exercises.

In chapter 4 of the manga, it is revealed that Sakura feels like she doesn't fit in with her fellow members, and feels distance between them because she grew up overseas. This may explain her overbearing support and kindness as a way to become closer to other people.

Sakura's specialty is being bilingual, ballet, and horse riding. Her hobby is listening to classical music. Her favorite food is smashed cucumbers with plum dressing, as well as Japanese food in general.[2]

Biography[]

Sakura is the daughter of a rich family, and was raised by her grandmother rather than her busy parents, which caused her to have a close relationship with her grandmother. Although, it is revealed in episode 4 that her grandmother passed away when Sakura was 14 years old.[5]

It was also revealed that Sakura lived in America when she got her letter from G.I.P., and made a deal with her parents that she could come to Japan for one year, and would have to return by the next. She can speak in fluent English, as she lived in Los Angeles. She knows how to figure skate.[6]

Sakura's future dreams are to be "An idol who cheers everyone up like cherry blossom."

Sakura Fujima (Sakura's Grandma)[]

Sakura was Sakura's Grandmother. The two shared the same name, despite it being written differently. Sakura loved her grandmother, even more than her own parents, and wanted to be with her forever. However, Sakura's grandmother died when she was 14 years old. Even after her death, Sakura still cherishes her grandmother.

Cast Commentary[]

"Sakura is cheerful and bright like the sun. There’s also another cheerful character named Miyako Kono, but Sakura is cheerful in a different way. Miyako’s cheerfulness is that can inspire others while Sakura is strong at the core, and follows through on her own path. Not only that, Sakura is from a rich family. Although Sakura is like the sun, I myself is little bit more cloudy. I am still not able to completely become the sun. But according to the character designer Mr. Kantoku, there’s darkness lurking within Sakura, and hoping the audience will be able to discover Sakura’s darkness. Please find the shadow of the sun!"
