I wonder how many bubbles there are in soda water? I've tried to count them before. Isn't that the same feeling as when you want to say something but can't?

— Miu Takigawa[1]

Miu Takigawa (たきがわみう Takigawa Miu?) is the center of 22/7 idol group and is a virtual YouTuber. She is also a member of 22/7 sub-unit Ki no Nuketa Cider. She is voiced by Nagomi Saijo.

Miu's image color is black.[2] Her penlight color is white.[3]

Appearance[]

Miu has short, messy dark-blue hair. She has long bangs that she occasionally hides behind one or both of her brown eyes.

Her character was designed by Yukiko Horiguchi.

Personality[]

Miu is an otaku who is a bit ignorant, yet is quite clumsy.[4] She is shown to be shy around others, and lacks confidence in herself. Even as a child, Miu was introverted and always kept to herself. Before joining 22/7, Miu didn't care about anything else outside of her own little world. Miu hates lying and people who lie. Miu is a realist.

Despite being introverted and shy, Miu has a sense of justice, and isn't afraid to physically fight back if pushed far enough.

Miu's favorite food is tuna rice.[5]

Biography[]

Miu is from Saitama. Miu looks after her sister and mother. She had a hard time smiling at her part-time job, so she was let go from it.[6] Miu could play the piano, but she sold it for money. It was implied by Haru that Miu could also compose music. Miu also enjoys reading poems and taking photos.[5]

In her childhood, Miu transferred primary schools and met Nicole during this time. While the two became acquainted and Miu even defended Nicole from bullying, Miu doesn't seem to remember Nicole or the incident.

Relationships[]

Sakura Fujima[]

Sakura was the first person Miu met from 22/7. Sakura was friendly to Miu and included her in discussions, though Miu felt overwhelmed with her bright personality. However, their relationship became closer when Sakura visited Miu's house, and was the first person Miu called by her first name.

Miyako Kono[]

Miyako is the one who gave Miu the nickname "Mew-mew", which implies that the two are close.

Ayaka Tachikawa[]

In the Shampoo no Nioi ga Shita PV, Ayaka continuously makes funny faces at Miu, where it shows that her end goal was to make Miu smile. Meanwhile Miu claims that Ayaka is the type of person she can't handle, and is the one in 22/7 that she knows the least. However, the two get a little closer in episode 9.

Nicole Saito[]

In Nicole's PV, it is shown that Miu looks up to Nicole. Nicole, however, disliked Miu and thought she wasn't fit to be an idol. At the end of episode 3, Nicole compliments Miu about her bangs being clipped back.

In episode 11, it was revealed that the two were acquainted when Miu transferred to Nicole's primary school for a certain amount of time, and Miu was actually the main reason that Nicole gained enough confidence to strive to become an idol. Despite reuniting when 22/7 was formed, Miu doesn't remember Nicole during their childhood.

Haru Takigawa[]

Haru is Miu's younger sister. Haru loves Miu's piano playing.

Sayuki Takigawa[]

Sayuki is Miu's mother. While Sayuki tends to always leave the chores to herself, Miu wishes that she would let her help out more often and should rely on her more due to her mother having poor health.

Cast Commentary[]

Personally, I think...she is very much like me. Even though she doesn't talk that much, it still feels like she has a lot of thoughts that she is keeping to herself. I also have trouble making words come out, given that there are so many thoughts and feelings... And when Miu got such a prominent position, I honestly thought "what should I do?" (laughs) Because I really don't think I deserve that position... However, when my dancing was motion-captured and I got to see the characters moving for the first time, I felt like I was actually synchronizing with her feelings. When I thought that, it really reassured me that I am not alone, I will try my best for Miu's sake...

Quotes[]

  • "I have no interest in world peace. And in doing so, my world is peaceful." Miu, episode 1
  • "This is not something that has started recently. Adults are creatures who have always said selfish things. Did they think by telling us we were chosen that we would be happy? It just means someone else wasn't chosen when I was." Miu, episode 1
  • "I didn't come here for you! I hate adults. They segregate, command, direct and force. They do all those selfish things, and I hate it! Idols are no better. They laugh at stupid things, wear frilly outfits, and shake their butts for their customers. It's foolish! ... I have come here to do the job I want to do least. And if I want to become an adult, I need to be good at it. If I must do it to protect the ones most precious to me... I'll become the world's top idol. I'll do anything!" Miu to Aoi, episode 1
